Default AAM plenum spacer opinion

Does anyone have independant dyno for the AAM plenum spacer? havent seen any dyno of the spacer except AAM website.

Also which will work better with FI, upper plenum or a plenum spacer?

FYI, my '05 is a non rev-up motor, its JDM.

Any help would be appreciated, if any dyno sheet that would be great.

Cheers

From local Z's dyno plots and track times I think the plenum spacer gives you 95% of the gains of a plenum at 60% the price. Id do a plenum spacer if I had to do it over again, I really like AAM's spacer very nice piece.

I love my AAM spacer, but it is a very tight install. You will be making a few adjustments, after the intial setting.

It made very noticable difference though.

I just installed mine this past weekend....very easy (I'm no mechanic!)...it took me about 1.5 hours...including a small beer break. It does make a difference...but you'll see more once the ecu adjusts. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE BOLTS!!!!! Follow the instructions closely...it is not hard to do.

i'm not gonna tell you to use the search function or that lots has already been posted on this topic. instead, i'll tell you i've read many threads that speak of fitment problems due to the angular design of the aam.

i believe the motordyne iso thermal kit prevents heat soak more than give you additional hp. Itll prevent u from loosing power as it gets hotter and hotter outside. All plenum spacers are equal. They give you 80% of the power of a regular cast plenum upgrade at 50% of the price

Z...I certainly can't argue the fact that some may have had fitment issues with the AAM...but not me. It went on perfectly and I had NO problems with the install....and like I said....I'm no mechanic...but follow instructions well. I had to SLIGHTLY move the strut up....I think 2 shims under each bolt on both sides (these are supplied)but I have good clearance and no rubbing. I give it a thumbs up.

I spent quite a while trying to get rid of the problems with AAM spacers. Maybe it is a bit different because I got JDM z33, but I went through the following steps.

1. Put two washer per bolt for the strut brace, and I could not get rid of the strut brace rubbing the plenum, and stock bolts wont hold three washers.

2. I bought 6 new bolts to use three washers, and my bonnet was bulging because it could not shut all the way down, so I removed the rubber tube under the bonnet and put a sponge tape instead.

3. The bonnet was shut without bulging and I thought i had it, but after a few weeks I found that my bonnet and strut brace were rubbing each other, the paints came off. on one spot.

4. Bought new washers that are 1/2 thick of the ones supplied by AAM, put two AAM washers and one 1/2 washer per bolt.

5. It wont rub the bonnet, engine plenum doesnt hit the spacer but its very tight fit. Maybe 1 or 2mm between the strut brace and the bonnet.

So yeah, I got it sorted at last..

gain wise, I do not know if it helped or not because I do not have any before and after dyno, but I got 260hp at wheels with AAM spacer and drop in panel filter, so it must be doing ok..
