MotorDyne Spacer Installed but...
Alright guys, i just installed the Motordyne Copper spacer, turned on the engine and my Z was not happy with what i did to her. My Z putters a lot more now on idle and sometimes almost sounds like its gonna turn off, but then revs back up again. Is this NORMAL?? I test drove it and it was like "WOW" what a difference, but on idle... it just sounds real hurt... Please advise...

Definately a leak.
When I'd installed my AAM spacer it was fine at idle for a while then
engine was almost died, had to retightening all the bolts on top of plenum.
They were suprisingly loose!

Sounds like a air leak. And it takes a pretty big one to cause a rough idle.
Check to see if the oil fill grommet isn't pinched in between the mating surfaces. This is the most common cause of an air leak.
2nd is a piece of the gasket folded over on itself.
3rd is a hose not pugged in.
Let me know what you find. It should be an easy fix.

ok ill check, but do you guys take the entire top plenum off during installation? There a lot of connectors/hoses to the top plenum, so you guys disconnect all of them?
Not necessarily all of them. It depends on what you are installing. A basic spacer doesn't need them all unpluged. Iso Thermal kits do.
BTW you didn't unplug the throttle body valve did you? It may require a pedal recalibration if you did. A loss of TB idle calibration could also cause a rough idle.

ok, did the reset and its in bad shape guys. I hear a lot of clanking, im thinking to just do it over tomorrow cuz its starting to just dye if i dont rev it. Any last advice?
If you hear that your idle is searching up and down its a definite indicator of the TB loss of calibration. It will cause exactly what you are describing.
As described in the instructions, Never unplug the TB harness connector without unpluging the battery negative first. It will lead to a loss of TB calibration and requires a multi-step pedal relearning procedure.
Getting the procedure right the first time isn't easy and there are several parts to it. I'll post them here shortly.

i unplugged the battery negative first just as in the directions. I did the pedal reset. Im gonna try it one more time tonight, but can maybe someone who has experience with the install take a look at my ****? really appreciate it.
thanks Tony for all your help. Yup, it was a HUGE leak. I should've known that there was something weird when i had 2 bolts left over. LOL. Its running smooooooth now and wow what a difference. Thanks again for walking me through the process. Your customer service is outstanding. You've got another loyal customer.
