From people that I've talked to it will give you a few hp up top and better top end and throttel response. More of a quickness mod than a hp mod.

From past experience with other cars it is just unbolt and rebolt on.

I think the larger throttle will only work well if you bore out the plenum air entry as well... and does anyone know if the larger throttle affects the idle quality? Thanks

cheers,

richie

All bored throttle bodies are the same. there is only so much you can bore out of them before the walls become too thin. the proflow, 350evo, and crawford are all the same. The gains don't come from the bore itself. they come from a modified throttle plate and shaft. The shaft is basically cut in half.

I wouldn't recommend a bored throttle body. The Z's throttle body is drive by wire and the TPS (throttle position sensor) is VERY sensitive. This makes boring out the throttle body a real gamble. the TPS becomes very finicky with the larger parameters it now sees. You will most likely throw continuous CEL lights with your car going into limp mode. You cannot replace the TPS on the throttlebody, you must replace that entire unit at tune of 600-800 bucks. I am speaking from experience.

If you run the crawford plenum, the inlet that the TB bolts to at least .5" larger than the OEM plenum opening. More than accomodating bored throttlebodies.

It does not affect idle quality

Great thanks for the input.

you will always have people that will run without issues and some that have issues. My point is, for the miniscule gains you get from this, it isn't worth the headache.

It might be miniscule, but gains are gains. I will probably get one eventually just to see what numbers I can get.

The gains will be so minuscule that you won't be able to measure them on a dyno. Variances between runs are greater than any gains a bored throttlebody will give.

We will just have to see. I will be getting one soon and I will be doing a dyno before and after. I will be swapping the throttle body while on the dyno also.
