Everyone will have their own opinions about exhaust, because every brand does sound a lot different. To the previous poster, yeah the Nismo does sound nice, but IMO not worth the money you pay for a Nismo badge. Comparing the Injen SES to HKS hi power is almost outrageous. The Injen used to be popular, however it seems more people are going with other routes nowadays, and this system has seemed to have lost its popularity. The Injen sound vs. the HKS sound is night and day. Injen sounded a little too "ricey" for my taste (I hate using that word but I couldn't think of anything else to describe it). Not to bash the Injen in anyway, to each his own. The HKS really does make a Z sound like an exotic. It has my vote all the way. However you might also want to take a look at the Topspeed Pro-1... there's a video on here of a Z doing drivebys with that exhaust, and it sounds A-mazing.

I agree, exhausts are very much in the eye of the driver, it's all relative. From experience, (I've used both before), I'd say the HKS is the way to go, however, for the money, you can't beat Nismo. The nismo is not a true dual, but it's a really good setup, good fitment, sound, and performance gains. Injen is similar in this regard but it is a True dual exhaust. however it's in six pieces (current version) and is hard to install/align to clear everything. The nismo is by far the most popular.
The debate is still ongonig as to which is better, true dual, or y-pipe style, I've tried a few exhausts of both worlds, and come to the same conclusion, for the money, go NISMO...

I would definately say the HKS. The Injen is nice but you cant beat the sound of the HKS and the NISMO is simply expensive!

The Three best exhausts for hte Z performance wise are the Apexi- 3in piping, HKS, and the Greddy evo two... Exhausts like the nismo and borla are very restrictive not big gains at all, they are basically like stock but sound different, If you are going FI the three I mentioned are the best or FI and NA.

I just installed my Injen Super SES this past weekend and love the results. I was a bit leery after reading about its supposed "drone", but I dont hear a noticable drone at all and love its deep powerful tone. Exhaust note is very personally subjective but I couldn't be more happy with my choice.
