Default HKS HI power

I'm thinking of ordering the HKS hi power exhaust in a couple of weeks. I was wondering if anyone has it or knows about it and can tell me about it. What are the cinsustent hp gains, does the sound sound as good as the clips on here, and is it worth the 1500+ dollars?? And what are those 2 extra canisters tha come out right by the mufflers??

I'm not sure what the proper term for them is ,but I'll just call them canisters. The canisters help with low rpm and load sound levels. When the exhaust flow is slow, due to low rpms or a low amount of load placed on the motor, the canisters acts as a secondary muffler. Once exhaust speed picks up, the gases choose the most direct route to exit, thus bypassing the canisters, and coming straight out the primary muffler. Pretty simple...

Nice car Bubble, I see you're a fellow Bay Area member . Can't really compare the two from personal experience, since I've only heard the Borla in person, and not the HKS. I've been researching exhaust systems endlessly for like the past 2 or 3 months , so I can tell you pretty much anything about any of the systems produced lol. Both systems are true dual, which means they both have a deeper pitch, due to very little mixing of exhaust pulses from the left bank of cylinders to the right. The Borla has a very deep muscular tone where as the HKS has a deep, more exotic raspy tone. Hard to describe the differences in words of course. As far as volume, the Borla is louder down low and thins out toward the top, as where the HKS is more linear in volume as rpm increase. I'd say they are pretty similar in overall volume output though.

If I remeber correctly, it's for noise control, and to maintain power at lower end (which most exhaust for 350Z have some sort of power loss).

Borla can't compare with HKS at all, the quality and craftmanship are so different between the two. HKS is so much better.

I have the HKS and I absolutely love it. At low rpm's its pretty quiet, but once u get on it it screams! Thats exactly what I wanted in an exhaust. Quiet when I want it, and loud when I want it. The quality is superb, and the install of the exhaust was super easy as well. If I remember correctly, the exhaust comes in 4 pieces total. so there's really no need to worry about any exhaust leaks, and if there are any, there's only 4 places to check for it. Its looks and sounds very exotic, and I've received nothing but compliments on the looks and sounds of the exhaust.

The exhaust has been on backorder for about 6 months now. However, HP Autoworks www.hpautoworks.com told me they were getting 8 of the exhausts either last week or this week, and 6 of them are already spoken for. If anyone is interested, e-mail Andy @ HP Autoworks hpautoworks@***.net and see if he still has them. Tell him Jaki sent you

PN sold it already. They actually had 2 in stock. Say bye-bye to your exhaust.
