put on test pipes, now i'm smoking!
I put on test pipes the other day and now my vehicle is smoking pretty bad. Is this common with test pipes? DOes moving the O2 sensor out with the non-foulers cause this?
I dyno'd and my AF is still a little lean but, my tail pipes look like a chimney with all the soot.

you have to break in the test pipes meaning inside the pipes they have the new metal lining that burns after its heated when the car is in working temperature
then
since you have no cats, there isnt anything to trap the smoke and bad odor from the exhaust so... it smokes...

It's normal I had white smokes for 2 weeks when I first put on my resonated test pipes. After that, the smokes were gone...

No, i gained 2 HP max but did get 4-5 overall over the whole curve except at top and the TQ was up over the whole curve until the end.
Also i did go from Kinetix HFC to these.

I just dyno'ed yesterday to build more NA UTEC maps. Test pipes added 5peak whp over stock cats. The under curve suggested 4-7whp over stock cats. Torque improved by 7whp at the peak. The under curve suggested a 0-10 ft-lbs gain over stock cats between 3000 - 5000 rpm.

I have the UTEC on order. I'm hoping that i can play with the timing and the AF to get the HP and TQ that i should be getting.
I thought i would get more power from the pipes.

I have Helix test pipes and mine never smoked that bad? I just smell the obvious rich exhaust. thats about it. Had them on the car for about 3000 miles. And really, only 5-7 hp/torque? Feels like more than that to me =(
From what I remmeber, it really picks up after 3000rpm but it might just be my mind playing tricks on me haha =)
