It's not that single exhausts are louder, my 5Zigen on my car now is as loud as nismo. BUT the JIC that I had was w/out a resonator, so it was louder than most other exhasuts because of that. Removing the resonator will increase flow, but will make it twice as loud lol...

are the resonators removable ?

Another consideration about titanium is it is a more brittle metal and not as pliable as steel.
One is not better than the other, yet, its what is better for you is what to consider.

But the exhausts are thinner walled than the steel (and the same amount of material is not used compared to a steel exhaust), so they are not built to be durable. They are built for performance mainly the light weight advantage. Which is why the steel exhausts with the titanium tips canisters are nothing more than just for looks.

the JIC exhaust somehow just came into my horizon...
a well made ti is every bit as durable as anything else...I've had the Fujit ti on my car for nearly a year now
An Injen exhaust weighs right around 55 lbs...nowhere near 30
