Dyno performed by Rob at Z Car Garage.

Baseline = Blue
MREV = Red

Hang on I dont get it. You had 231whp stock on a REV up motor?

 

I'd rather receive a review from a direct consumer anyday.........

 

I dynoed mine stock and it was 234.

 

There have been plenty of direct consumer reviews including mine. I don't know what your complaining about.

 

Dont you find that odd? How a 287 hp 03-05 dynos the same if not more than a 300 hp 06?

The reason i'm so interested is because i'm going to purchase a 06 this week and dont want to waste my money on something that wont really show improvement.

 

I do too. This particular dyno was independantly performed by a G35 driver who aparently doesn't visit here, but the thing to take from it take from it, is that it is consistant with all the other MREV PLUS dynos.

Its showing the same type of curvature and gains. People are generally getting roughly 20 HP and 30 TQ from the MREV PLUS. And that is the most gains, or area under the curve, ever seen from any single NA bolt on.

It also puts the gains in a highly usable area. See the TQ curve to see what and where it does its work.

At the same dyno day that RickDogg attended, Andy from Performance Nissan pulled ~291 HP with a gang of bolt ons. And Andy has the MREV (regular) installed too.

This new engine hasn't been out all that long. Give it a little time. The Revup will surpass the 287 HP engine soon enough.

And Congrats on getting the 06. Its an awesome ride. I just picked one up myself for development purposes. ...Very fun and very fast!

 

I havent even test driven the REV ups yet, i'm going to test it out when I purchase it this weekend. In your opinion, would you say the REV up is much faster than the 287's? I'm very interested in this, I mean why would they dyno the same to the wheels if one is rated at 287 and one at 300? Unless there is a higher drivetrain loss.

 

Well you need to just take dyno numbers with a grain of salt. Like someone has mentioned before dyno's are to be used for testing and tuning and finding out what kind of gains you made with different mods.

Another member on here thehawk dyno'd his rev-up motor and it came out to 250rwhp stock. Now with all bolt on's I think he's making somewhere in the 280 range if I remember correctly. I don't remember what kind of dyno but as you can see numbers will always be different with different dynos. I guarantee if I dynoed on a Mustang or Dyna pak my numbers would be totally different than my dyno from the dyno jet.

I don't think you will be wasting your money. Everyone is pretty much in agreement that the Rev-up motors are taking better to mods.

 

They are most likely equal but I did a test myself against a 2003 350z. We did a couple of 40-100 mph runs on the highway and on every run I had a 1/2 a car length on him.

That is true that dyno numbers typically should be taken with a grain of salt, unless you have 20-30 VQ's dyno'd the same day to compare results. The 287 motor still has potential which showed when I dyno'd the highest at the last dyno day out here in so cal. Once you get in the area of a lot of mods, both motors should be pretty similar

300 hp motors not the 287's

 

Its a plenum mod designed specifically for the REVUP engine. For a single bolt on, it makes very significant power gains as shown in the dyno plots posted above.

Thats me . I dynoed on a dynojet with SAE corrected numbers. It is the same shop and same dyno that Doug from Crawford dynos on. My most recent dyno was 282.7rwhp and 252.8rwtq.

The TQ for the dyno posted looks really spikey for a dynojet. Why is that? Good gains tho.

EDIT: Hydrazine, do you have Andy's dyno to show? 291 is very impressive.
