Good luck. Hope to hear your take on the exhaust. Make sure you give it a little time before you decide to sell because it's loud.

I wanted NISMO and test pipes but I'm impatient and cheap, so I'm thinking of buying a Topspeed instead, plus I'll still pass emissions coming up in a few months. Will this be louder than that? The only Z I've heard with test pipes had an Injen exhaust, will this be louder than that combination? It was pretty loud but not too loud for my tastes.
Dude, you will not know what hit you the first time you start up the Z with test pipes and pro1 exhaust installed. I had the exhaust installed with headers and non-resonated test pipes for the less than 24 hours before I put the cats back on. I might be purchasing resonated test pipes soon just to see how that sounds. But when you get everything installed, the sound will slap you in the face and rumble your chest. Yes, it's THAT loud.

No I meant I'm replacing the test pipes and NISMO with just a Topspeed Pro-1 so I can pass emissions . I'm not that crazy!

Guys i'm about to get an exhaust for my car. I'm still debating on which to get. I'm wanting a loud note but not rice loud. Would this exhaust with the stock cats and y pipe fit in this category? I like the sound on the clip posted on the first page, but i wasnt sure if that had tp's or not.

All I've heard about this exhaust is that it's loud loud loud- I'd imagine that would fit your definition of rice loud. I wouldn't call it rice though, I'll be doing the public a favor!

The RS*R is very very similar but costs twice as much. That's why I went with Topspeed.

Ice,

Thanks for the quick response man. Thats kinda the answer i was expecting. For the price the Top speed seems to be a pretty good deal. So your running the topspeed? Did you notice any tq decrease on the bottom end when you installed it? Also hows the sound inside the car? Is it tolerable and can you still carry on a conversation? Sorry for all the questions, but I dont wanna get something i'll be unhappy with. There are only a few 350's in this area and all of them are bone stock with no intentions of modding as far as i can tell. So i'm kinda on my own.

Also, you wouldnt happen to have any pics of the exhaust on your car would you?

It's definitely not rice. I've had NOTHING but compliments from anyone who hears my car. The office I work at is in a warehouse district with a bunch of harley riders. I get nothing but thumbs up and compliments when I see one the guys in the warehouse. People with domestics have said they love the sounds. Even more people are shocked when I tell then its a v6. It's definitely not rice, just d@mn loud.

Ice,

Did you get your exhaust yet? I'm interested in seeing if the ebay exhaust you posted the link to is indeed the same as the top speed pro-1. I'll be ordering it as soon as I get some feed back from ya. so no pressure

Ok, Merk? Calm down and use punctuation.

To answer your question. That video on google that you saw is not even close to portraying what the actual volume of the exhaust is. It is MUCH MUCH louder than in the video. But it does sound very nice. I haven't had one person say a bad thing about its sound (note I didn't say volume).

I don't know if that $500 is legit. It shouldn't cost that little. I don't know what you get from the exhaust, but all I got was a midpipe and the exhaust tips (from a member). They bolt directly onto the stock y-pipe. The piping's 3 inches while the outlet of the y-pipe is 2.5, however. This will take away from your tq a little more than it already will. Because it goes where the stock midpipe goes, there's no need for welding or cutting.

I'm assuming if it's the real thing, you'd also get gaskets, silencers, and maybe bolts and nuts.

Does Topspeed come in Titanium? If not are there any exhausts that do sound like the topspeed that are available in Titanium?

I wish man... I think it's stainless steel. The closest thing to the Pro-1 would be a single exit JIC Ti exhaust. The single exit sounds similar but alot more tame than then pro-1.

A few things-
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
This is the exhaust I bought. It's being shipped today, I bought it yesterday. Should come with gaskets and silencers, but unfortunately they didn't say anything about the bolts.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissa...QQcmdZViewItem
This one is also a Topspeed, and it comes with bolts for sure. I'm unsure about mine.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Catba...QQcmdZViewItem
This one is 340 shipped. The difference in price (my total was 347) wasn't big enough for me to sweat about it.

You can get this exhaust for 500 brand new from a store, but the 'eBay specials' have been reliable and are actually Topspeeds, according to the searches I did here.

It's a mid-pipe and tailpipes. A y-pipe must be bought separately (which I will probably buy).

The Topspeed has so little material it's already so light. It weighs as much as a much more comprehensive (aka quieter) Ti exhaust. Doing it in titanium would save very little weight!

Mine should be here next week while I'm in Winston/Gboro, so I'll install it next weekend .

Bummer, I didn't really want the titanium for weight savings, I love the way the titanium exhausts look when they are heated up.
