just try a couple bolt-ons and see what it gets u.
I'd say, pop charger, 5/16 spacer, and a set of megan test pipes. Total for everything is right around $500 give or take. If you put them on and you like it your good. If you dont and want to be a lot faster, well then save your money because only F/I can save you from here!

You're half way of Vortech or Turnonetic already. What is the reason you can't go F/I? cost? if that the case then save it bit more and go with F/I. If not then go for it.
well bubble you also have to put into considation with the install, and tunning it... either way your **** out of pocket.

You have intake & exhaust already. You could probably do cams and ECU for just under 3K. With 3K that might be your best bet for gains. But I would recommend headers after that for best results. But which engine do you have? If you have rev-up 300hp VQ you can only do intake cams right now, in which case you should get the Nismo S tune intake cams.

Cams? for what? First im pretty sure he had a certain budget and also i think going internal is the last thing he'd want to do. A MD plenum spacer, Labree or APS test pipes, and headers from either Crawford, DC Sports, or Strup. Keep in mind that any combination of parts they will put you in the 1100 to 1500 range but without installation. Personally i say nix the headers and put it to something more useful.

get a 5/16 spacer, UR crank puley, APS tp's, dc or strup headers and get an ECU reflah because you won't need a UTEC with those mods.

i dont think it messes up ur engine, as there are a lot of people on the forum using it. I believe when pulley's first came out for the Z, there was a lot of discussion about the pulley and its quality and perhaps throwing off the timing off the motor because it was too light or it would be mis-shaped or something.

If you want peace of mind, stay NA. I have done intake, plenum, exhaust, headers, test pipes, flywheel, pulley, cams and TS re-flash. Cheap? No, especially the cam install. Worth it? For me, living in AZ (where a turbo is just not in the cards due to summer heat), it was the only way to go (still a bit cheaper than FI if you can do some of the work yourself). The car is MUCH faster than stock. Worth it? I think so... the car is now a blast to drive. The engine spins up very quickly. A 3.9 gear might be my next mod...

He want's performance mods. He said he has $3000 budget right now. I gave him my opinion from my own experience. Cams and ECU piggyback like mine with a tune will do more for him & you than just simple bolt on's. Cam's isn't really going internal. If he don't want cam's then who cares, I don't.

Edit: Oh yeah and I mentioned cam's because I consider them to be bolt on's, expensive bolt on's, but bolt on's nun the less.

You have 3.5 stock Final Drive gears if you are a six speed. A 3.9 (FD) will lower your final drive ratio thus you will rev quicker. Your gears will not have as much speed, but you will be quicker. The Final Drive is in your rear differential.

Maybe even better result's, I'm not sure. You will definately get results you will feel and enjoy. Your Automatic has a 3.36 FD, even taller than the 6 speed's 3.5 ratio. A good mod for acceleration that you will exploit.
Central 20 has a 3.9 FD for about $500. I don't know how much install is.

Edit: You should know beforehand that this mod will lower your top speed. Not that you want to go 156 mph, I don't. But your overdrive rpm's will suffer when freeway cruising.

Here's a decent thread on 3.9 FD, MFAnello350. https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-drivetrain/164866-350evo-3-9fd-install-questions.html
