I would say that the stock exhaust IS quite restrictive....at least with the non-rev up motors, that engine just doesnt want to rev in the mid to higher rpm range.

Stock exhaust sounds decent from outside, even pretty good at low rpm, but inside at high RPM its almost more of a noise the sound IMO.

And there are gains from swapping exhaust, though obiously not a lot.

For some reason in the videos it SOUNDS raspy but trust me when I say this that when you hear this exhaust in PERSON it does not sound raspy like that.

Thanks to all the positive responses. And as far as rasp goes ... there honestly isn't any ... it just sounds that way in the vid for some reason.

hehe you don't need to prove anything to anyone man, congrats on an excellent sounding exhaust and it's spectacular appearance. No video has ever done this exhaust justice.

I think it sounds great, but then again, i thought my exhaust (stillen) sounded good too when i first got it. But after i put in the high flow cats, then the rasp sound came out. Anyways, good choice, HKS makes great stuff.

My boy steven here in CA has this exhaust, I think he has a popcharger as well, or maybe a injen intake, his exhaust has no rasp what so ever, I tell you, its the same sound as stock, except its a little louder, deeper, overall just a really pissed off better looking version of the stock exhaust, and you do see some gains, plus, its lighter then stock I believe?? I wonder if its the video camera making the exhaust sound raspy, or maybe it needs to be broken in, because the HKS should be the only exhaust for the Z, its that good IMO.

Ehhh... not my kinda sound. I still like the sound of the top speed type exhaust better. But one thing the HKS does great is look good. Congrats Kam on the new exhaust!
