Default I bought the HKS: I have videos : )

I had the hks installed today, and yes, it was worth every ****ing penny. This exhaust is amazing. Let me describe for you guys, then I'll let you judge on your own:

Inside Car: The sound is not loud during normal driving. With WOT, car sounds great with windows up ... sounds even better with windows down. Just amazing.

Outside Car: I had my friend Adrian and Mike drive it, and WOW. This thing sounds UNBELIEVABLE. The videos don't do it justice ....

Performance: I will tell you right now that I did lose a little low end torque. This, for me, was actually a good thing I think. When I launch, I don't have to deal with all that extra torque I had to before. Under 3000 RPM ... a little bit of torque loss. Above 3000 RPM ... WATCH OUT. This thing takes off and keeps giving. Driving actually feels smoother and easier with this exhaust. Before, when I drove with all the low end torque, the car jerked a bit before I could move the car from a complete stop to moving. Overall I am SO satisfied with this exhaust, words can't even describe it.

Looks: Oh, it's BEAUTIFUL.

and now ... what you've all been waiting for ... the videos:

what do you guys think?

Im the driver in the other 350z. Yeah, my car got raped, i need to work on my launches, I even have the 3.9 final drive. But i also have 19" GT-Cs and a BBK. The videos do not do this exhaust justice, you have to hear it in person. He got the install done at GT Motorsports in Rancho Cucamonga, and they did a really good job, with really good prices.

I'm suprised you pulled on that other Z like that with just a popcharger & exhaust. I'm assuming the other Z was a stock 6sp.

Other Z is the 2nd post on this thread. He has 3.91 FD, Popcharger, and thats it. He's getting a new clutch and flywheel next week. Keep in mind ... he had a passenger in his car ... My model is track, and his is touring if it makes any difference.

Theres more rasp than I expected. The first few seconds when you're revving on the driveway sounds great though.

Sounds amazing, cool videos to!

I can imagine how good it must sound in real life!! Cant wait to get mine fitted and get roaming down the country roads with that sound

RASP? RISE?? Comeon, if that sound is "rise" then get me a bowl and some sticks! Do you guys think tuned race cars sound "rise" as well? I think purely deep & bassy sound isnt really sporty as less sound dampening = more high pitched sound, a really sporty car should have a high pitched note to it but backed with a nice balanced bassy base (just like the HKS has).

congrat on your new HKS. after viewing the video, i have 2nd thought about getting it. Don't sound much different from my Borla with testpipe. I guess the video sound is not as good as outside. Wonder anyone in the bayarea has HKS installed?
