What's up people. Just making this post to introduce myself to the forums. I've been contemplating for a while what my next car will be. Like many I have come down to two choices, the S2000 because I'm a Honda fan, and of course your beloved 350Z. Well I'm proud to say, the 350Z won. Not because of the small cabin space in the S2, or the high torque of the Z, but because I'm too lazy to learn how to drive a manual...lol. So this summer probably around July, I will be purchasing a 2003 Z. I'm coming from a 2005 Honda Civic Auto with minimal mods, so the Z will be a big step for me. I work for a company called HSBC doing Credit Collections, so it will be my little "bonus". Anyway just came through to say hi, and hopefully you will be seeing more of me.

Bro do yourself a huge favor and LEARN stick! I was just as lazy as you until i bought a Manual car and I was forced to learn. It only took me a few hours to get the hang of it. I think 1 day is sufficient enough. Once you learn stick you won't go back not to mention it's alot of fun. Do not, i repeat, DO NOT get a sports car that is automatic. It totally defeats the purpose. Good luck.

freshpair86: Welcome.

Do yourself a favor, and take a quick lesson with one of your friends who drives a MT car. Then go to the stealership and test drive both.
Everyone has their own preffrences. I have a G AT, and bought it because the price was right. (I was originaly looking for a MT btw)...
There's not much difference beteewn the AT/MT, buy what feels right to you. Dont let these clowns convince you that an automatic Z or G is a 'travesty' (sp)

Now that we have the new automatics with the optional manual shifting I don't think this is as true anymore. Espeically if you have to drive in a lot of traffic on a daily basis.

Although if your serious about driving and want full control of your car then the manual is the only way to go.... But for someone who enjoys a sporty weekend drive but yet has to use the car for daily commute in traffic there's nothing wrong with the 350z automatic.

Does that mean you can wipe out card balances I have an HSBC card, so I can max it out and you can make the stuff disappear, right.

Hey now...I've been on the forum for over 2 years and my Z isn't a week old. A lot can happen between now and June.

Well anywho....AT or MT...you'll love the Z. I been driving an auto for 6 years and my Z is the first MT.
Is it hard? It can be..but knowing the basics is all you need
Do I stall out? At least once a day!
Is uphill a battle? You know it.
Do I regreat getting a MT? HELL FREAKIN' NO!!!

Yeah man I figured that most would say you get alot of "these" posts. i'm pushing for this Z don't have to save much $$$$ so it's pretty much in my sights for July. Also I know the MT would be great but this will be my daily driver and I commute back and forth through heavy traffic and wanna be lazy on my way to work.......lol. Anyway I appreciate all the comments, just wanted to introduce myself. Anyway I'm be doing more browsing than posting until I get my Z. See everybody soon.

Hey man, do what you want. There are days that I'm stuck in traffic wishing that I had an AT, so I can definitely understand that. On the other hand though, I don't regret having a 6M at all, I love it.

Yeah I'm pushing for the AT. I talked to State Farm today on a quote on a 2003 and they only told me $232/ month. I was excited, especially because I just got a ticket on the way home yesterday. I gotta drive like a granny for 3 months or they will suspend my DL. All I gotta do now is save up the 5 G's imma put down and the will keys will be in my hand. See everyone in 5 months or less.
