Does anyone here just have a cold air intake without any other mods to the Z? If so, did it make any difference in the sound? I like the stock sound of my engine so before I drop $300 on an intake, I wanna make sure its not going to change much. Thanks.

 

i did until like 2 weeks ago. it is a small difference not much. i have the injen 1st edition. dont spend 300 bucks, wait and buy it used and let someone else take the hit. But def a good mod, could def feel a small difference.

 

Your 350Z has been stock for 9 months. If you prefer stock then stay stock. No big deal.

 

i had one for a week by itself love the sound around 5k and it made some good top end.

 

Who said my Z was stock?? Just the engine.

Besides the small gain, I just dont want my car to start sounding like a ricer.

 

0-5k RPM = Sound very similar to stock only slight added sound from the intake
5-7k RPM = 2-3 times louder then stock (inside and ahead of the car) at WOT

Open intake sounds far from rise, it just adds another dimension to the engine note VERY welcome IMO.
