Default MREV+, First Impression

Well, I just installed the Mrev+ tonight. Couldnt get the damn check engine light to turn off, so I have to leave the battery unplugged for 24 hours to reset the ECU. But anyway, I dont know how good of an idea it was to go WOT when the car isnt running right, but I did it anyway. Hopefully I didnt permanantly damage anything. But as for the feel of the car. Well, it definately feels different. At about 3500-6200ish, you can really feel more power. It almost felt like a tiny amount of boost. I thought it was pretty cool. I didnt want to get on it to hard because of the ECU problem. But, hopefully when that is finally reset, I will get even more power. But, we will really see if the MREV+ is worth it when I track and dyno the car.

It's a big difference on the dyno and you can definitely feel it in the midrange pull harder.

Ok, just drove the car today with the ECU problem all taken car off. Wow, I should have reset the ECU a long time ago. But anyway. My rear tires are freaking bald and its about 32 degrees. My tires have tread on the outer stripes, and the middle three stripes are completely slick. So....... I would punch it in second around 45 mph and I would completely lose traction. Really frustrating when trying to get an *** dyno going. But, yeah, It is a noticeable difference. I didnt notice anything when i put on CAI or Dual exhaust. But this is noticeable.

You should have done the ecu reset manually. Go to the technosquare site and get the instructions on how to reset your ecu manually. Its much easier for installs like this. I'm not really sure why you got a CEL thrown because the MREV shouldnt turn any check engine light on unless you have a major leak. Let us know of any updates, thanks.

The motordyne kit came with the instructions to reset the ECU, but it is very complicated. You have to do everthing perfectly. It was much easier to keep the battery unplugged for a day. The car runs great now, and there arent any leaks. It really pulls stronger. I havent dynoed the car yet, so I cannot report any numbers. But I would recommend it.

I still need to install Headers, Testpipes, and Crank Pulley. That should be interesting.

24 hr battery unplug is better than just the ECU reset procedure. FYI.
