Default Crawford manifold or MREV for the REVUP motor

Okay folks, I have a dilemma. I'm in the market now for a manifold my 06 REVUP motor and i'm not sure which route to go. I have seen all the awesome dynos on the MREV, but i've also seen great dynos on the Crawford. Does anyone have any experience with both? Please shine some light on this subject. The crawford manifold is a lot less than the MREV as well. I've searched and saw some dynos but nobody has really experienced both. Thanks

Arin

from what I have seen...you will gain a MINIMUM of 15whp with the MREV mod...with something like 20ft lbs. you will lose 5ish HP on the top end. the crawford will show better gaind above 6000rpm. i'd go with the MREV

Off-topic but does your grounding kit actually work? If it does how does it compare to sun automotive kits and apexi kit?

MREV is more for midrange. Crawford is for topend. Here is my stock dyno vs plenum dyno on 2005 Track (revup motor).

Thank you for posting this dyno chart.

I would probably go with the crawford plenum after looking at your chart. Although the MREV does gain alot of power in mid-range, it looks like you hit a wall once it gets in to the high RPM powerband. I like the fact the Crawford plenum lost nothing down low, and only gained up top.

There has to be a middle-ground somewhere between these two.

I'm still in a dilemma because yes he gained 7whp up top but he stayed even throughout the powerband, when you shift your rpm drops so you need that mid-range hp.

I'd go with the MREV for several reasons:
1. Your gas mileage increases. This has been reported from several members including myself.

2. Your Lower Rev-up plenum you replace can be sold for $200 to someone wanting the Lower Rev-up plenum for their 287 motor thus you are recouping your costs spent buying the MREV.

3. Gains are consistent throughout most of the rev range.
Here is my dyno for you to look at:
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....highlight=MREV

4. Excellent customer service from Tony. Every time I had a problem installing the MREV I could call Tony and he would walk me through the install problems I had. I give an A+++ for customer service from Motordyne and I would not hesitate to buy future products from him.

After a drive I noticed that from 1st to 2nd while shifting at redline the rpm dropped to around 5k. From 2nd to 3rd the rpm is around 5200. I would of done more, but I ran out of road. I gained some good midrange with the headers. Here is my dyno of crawford plenum, crawford headers, crawford highflow cats, JWT popcharger, and borla exhaust.

Here is the dyno of swapping out the highflow cats for testpipes.

I went with the crawford upper and the mrev lower sounds like the best of both worlds to me.

I have a dyno for that one too.

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...64805389GiVRUT

Green = Crawford headers, highflow cats, plenum, JWT intake, and borla exhaust
Red = Same as Green but swapped stock 300hp lower plenum for the 287hp lower plenum(so basiclly MREV with plenum instead of spacer)
Blue = Same as Red, but added Crawford Throttle body

Yeah the page works, but the MREV they say is different. Tony said its the 287 lower but it has modifications. This is a tough decision, you want that peak power but then again you want the mid-range. I wonder what the difference is in 1/4 mile times...

Have you hit the track yet? I'd like to see what the 1/4 mile results are with the MREV and the Crawford.

Nope not yet. I did race my friends 03 Z when I just had the MREV alone and I pulled on him a good car length from 40-100.

I think the only difference is their 287hp lower plenum has the front runners cut down a bit. If it helps I can't see it helping a lot.
