Got the Pop Charger Installed today
instead of using the screws, just use some double sided tape to hold the heat shield to the snorkle. that way, you dont have to put holes in the snorkle and it will hold up just fine.
it dont have to be new to whistle.. hehe.. but yes its true.. when its new its more noticeable... but dont forget to clean them... makes alot of difference too... had mine for about a year.. love it...

JWT used a alodine coating:
Alodine" is a non-anodic protective coating. Alodine {aka Iridite, aka Chromate Conversion} is a microscopic thin film commonly prescribed on aluminum to:
1. Provide an Excellent surface prep for paint aid in Corrosion Resistance
2. Impose desired Electrical 'Resistance' characteristics, and so is commonly
prescribed for Radio and Amplifier cabinets.
Bottom line is it is a cheap and good way to protect aluminum parts.

Ive had both a Popcharger setup (open cone filter on stock tubing) and now the K&N, and they sound pretty much identical. If one sounds better i would say the K&N because of the metallic resonance you get from the air box.
Prefer the looks of the K&N carbon fibre lid and the box that shields from hot engine air + it has the snorkle if you want cold air ram, im very pleased with it! Though like it has been said, its hard to beat the sound per $ that you get from the popcharger.
