Default KINETIX INTAKE PLENUM or Motordyne spacer

Do yall think that the Motordyne plenum spacer (5/16) or the Kenetix plenum would be a better investment? i want to use the stock strut tower brace.

+2 ^ Had my MD 5/16" spacer put on Friday, and I couldn't be happier. No issues with install, nor did I have any clearance problems. Use the stock brace with the spacers provided and off I went WITH A BIG FAT GRIN ON MY FACE!!

The spacer is cheaper, but doesn't look as good as the Kinetix plenum. The Kinetix allows you to retain your OEM strut bar. I say do whatever you prefer as there will not be much difference in power between the 2. Maybe a few HP, but nothing you will be able to feel over the other. Its all about your preference. My opinion is Kinetix because it just looks better, but I am bias since I have had their V4 plenum and now I have their full manifold!

This news about the Kinetix plenum is VERY OLD news. AFAIK, there have been no reports of this thing melting or cracking in the past 1.5-2 years. There have been some reports, but its mostly due to user error in installation. Besides, the latest plenum is suppose to be able to handle somewhere near 15psi of boost for any boosted vehicles. I may not be exactly accurate on the psi level, but its somewhere near there.

While it may be old news, my choice was the spacer since there haven't been any reported problems.

The kinetix plenum is crap and I would be embarrassed to run it on my car. I pulled one of during a ST install and told the guy I would not put it back on - cracking, coolant block was leaking and loose, rubbing on the stock strut bar, looked bad, etc.

Get the spacer

Also with the 5/16th spacer you can use the stock strut bar.

well considering no one with the SSV can produce those results you cannot say that Kinetix can do it either. Check the dates on their before and after dyno sheets... That **** is so rigged a retarded monkey would notice.

Oh Yeah... go with the Motordyne spacer!

I would really love to know who installed the plenum in the first place... I dont know if you are in the position to call the kinetix plenum a piece of crap but it is your opinion. Either that person was given a product with factory defect, or the user installed it inproperly. I have the new kinetix v+ and it works like a charm. If you want to clean up the engine bay, and still maintain a high level of performance, do the kinetix. People get to caught up on these things that happened once or twice on products that have been mass produced. Believe it or not, airplanes have had defects and crashed before! If I was the person who started the thread I would go with the Kinetix... SOorry for the rant!

Several tuning shops I have spoke with don't recommend the new kinetix plenum. I had the old plastic one...untill my supercharger blew it right off the lower plenum.

Blew it right off the lower plenum... Come on dude!! Thats about retarded. PM SungnamZ, he ran the V4 with a Vortech SC for a while with no issues. He also ran the manifold prototype and is the one who showed the gains of roughly 50RWHP. He did not work for Kinetix nor does he now.
