Default borla exhaust cracked

Hey all,

My exhaust was making a rattling sound for the past week so I went under to take a look. Apparently my hpipe cracked at where the clamp is. Can I have a muffler shop weld it up? The crack is about a inch long. I heard of other borla systems doing the same thing.

Any competent exhaust shop can weld it, but make sure you go to one that has stainless steel weld wire so it doesn't rust.

Absolutely. Don't touch it. Utilize the warranty.

The weld advice while sound has one draw back. If you do it you void the warranty. Given it is a million mile warranty, you are giving up a lot of potential future warranty support. It all depends on how long you think you will have the Z and this exhaust.

If you read the warranty paperwork it states that any mods, including welding, will void the warranty. Try working things out with Borla before you mod the exhaust in any way.

If you call Borla that may allow you to have it welded and it keep your warranty. Just call them first and ask them what you should do.
