Don't clean a MAF with break cleaner, used denatured alcohol, rubbing alcohol or special electonic parts cleaners (go to radio shack). Last issue of Grass Roots Motorsports had some new product specifically designed to clean a MAF as well.

Actually the spark between a standard heat range plug and a colder one of the same brand/series will not change based on the fact that one set is colder.

The only difference is that the colder plug is capable of removing more heat from the chamber.

In a NA setup, you'd be better off with stock heat range as the colder plug will remove more heat than is desired. This will result in the fuel not being completely burned off and build up of carbon.

There is nothing wrong with running one step colder plugs in an NA setup, but you will not gain spark and you will increase carbonization. It is a small increase in carbon, but an unnecessary one.

although the problem probably is the k&n, if that doesn't work I'd guess then it's the y-pipe+test pipes......i've read lots of posts of people who swap the headers and/or cats as wlel as the y-pipe and loose A LOT of power (versus keeping the stock y)

Funny part is, I lost a lotta power after my intake install. I'm guessing the intake has something to do with it. Maybe the oil from the k&n got to the maf sensor.

Why dont you switch forums so you can be a bit more mature. I drove his car smartass, in the lower rpms I have more power but up top my car dies out. If you cant give me a legit logical answer, shut your mouth.

I would put the stock air filter back in and use electrical cleaner in a can like stated before to clean the MAF. I've heard a LOT of people having this prob. in other vehicles when using K&N.(these new cars have really sensitive MAF's)

Have you done a dyno yet? If he starts pulling from you in the upper rpms it might be because of the lose of topend power with the MREV. I have also heard that if you are throwing a CEL with testpipes then the ECU tries to compensate for emissions sake and that can hurt ur power. And also check out the MAF like others have stated.

I'm at work right now so I cant clean the maf. I'm actually going to borrow a buddies 06 intake and clean the maf to find out if there is a difference. Also, the MREV is supposed to only drop peak power by 2-4whp. I dont have the CEL problems because I have the non-foulers. I know my car does run very very rich though, this entire thing might be caused by the intake. Thanks for the help guys, i'll definitely look into finding the culprit.

I would still go to the dyno, becuase what it is suppose to drop might not be its actual drop on your car.
