Default MREV+: Rough Idle

I've been hoping my idle was normal after installing the MREV+ however its shaking enough that i can hear the misfire with the windows down.

I have tried:

1) retorquing upper plenum bolts
2) spraying carb cleaner around seals to spot a leak
3) throttle relearn, idle air relearn procedure

So far the idle is worse when the engine is cold and better when it is warm. I'm wondering if someone else has had a similar problem. I am going to try to remove the spacer to see if the leak is coming from that area.

Any help/experience would be appreciated. I'm getting close to just going back to stock.

Definitely sounds symptomatic of a leak. The leak could be coming from anywhere after the MAF so be sure to check your intake pipe connection to the throttle body as well.

Also for the sake of thoroughness, make sure your gaskets are aligned correctly and you have one both above and below the spacer. Center bolts can leak as well. Good luck.

I just installed the MD 5/16" Iso Thermal plenum spacer and I just don't see the big deal about yet!

It feels the same, sounds the same, it even was as hot after a 1/2 hour drive. I have to say that I had to call Tony at MD twice while I was installing, he is awesome!!

I guess the only way to see a change is to get a dyno, and see it on paper? For what it took to install and cost, don't see or feel any worth changes. Maybe I am missing something? Any info or input would be great..

First MOD done

i have the spacers too and i have notice my idle is not constant at 600rpm. the neddle would sometimes at idle go up to like 610 and go back to 600 on and off at idle. Is that normal?

Disconnect negative terminal on battery over nite (appx 12 hours) then reconnect. this should reset your ECU.

Buy a Cipher and up your idle some(among many things you can do with it). I always hated the low stock Z idlle, I love it at 960 now
