Just go ahead and do it and do before and after dynos to prove what the gains will be. I have one and have had one since their first batch. I cant comment on the perf. gains as I had it installed in conjunction with my supercharger, but it sure does look awesome. If you plan on going F/I, that may be the route for you. If not, you may not want to add the SSV. I got mine because of the aesthetics. It is fuking awesome to look at. I get more comments on the SSV than anything else about the car!

i still havn't seen a dyno where someone looses power on an SSV. some people are just bitter over that ghetto dyno on the kinetix website. if anything, this makes 5-10 more hp than the plastic kinetix SSV. Its not worth it if you're looking for HP gains ONLY. It makes about as much HP as other plenums, however it looks bangin :-D. I can't comment on turbocharged applications, but it makes goood power on SC, and its the only plenum option for vortech superchargers at the moment.

SC, ST or TT is the ONLY way to mod the Z/G! This is the best bang for the buck mod you can do. With N/A bolt-ons, you will gain a little, but not really a lot for the money. You can go F/I safely and can have a lot of fun with it... And beat the hell out of the car everytime you drive it w/o blowing it up. I have had the Vortech SC for about 11k miles and beat the **** out of the car everytime I am in it and I am pushing 370RWHP!!

Not saying that it will, but I sure do hope so! On the bright side, I have had the car since Aug. '03 and ONLY have about 33k miles on it! So, I would say that 100k miles is going to be a LONG time away from now for me. There has been a lot of speculation on how long a F/I'd engine will last for the past 2 years I have been on this board. IIRC, people estimate that our motor, in stock form, will last around 225k miles, or it was designed to last that long. I would like to think that going F/I will not reduce its life by more than 50%. But the bottom line is, you gotta be able to pay to play. If you can afford to go F/I, you better be able to afford the repairs if something breaks. Don't go F/I unless you can afford it!

Just to get back on topic, look around this forum and some of the other ones out there to see what is being said about this topic. Unless you have the cash to drop on the SSV, I would probably get either the Kinetix V+ plenum (supposedly good for up to 15 psi of boost) or get a plenum spacer(Motordyne, Skunk2 or AAM). You could look into the SFR "Coffin" manifold, but I think it is even more expensive than the SSV. I do think that it was designed specifically for a N/A car though whereas the SSV was designed for F/I applications. In addition to one of these, I would get the JWT Popcharger and not waste the cash on a CAI. The Popcharger is the best bang for the buck filter/CAI replacement.

Lets not get into Crawford vs. Kinetix debate here! There is no need in bashing 1 or the other in this thread as it has been beat to death in about 1 million other threads.
