Finaly installed my popcharger
My wife bought me an Apexi N1 exhaust system and a popcharger for christmas. i had a muffler shop install the exhaust but i was going to wait until it got warm to install the popcharger, because i wanted to do it myself (very easy). Well the exhaust made my car sound better, but obviously not much or any of a performance gain since i have yet to get testpipes or a y-pipe. Finaly, on friday i installed my popcharger. in about 20 minutes i was ready to take it for a spin. i instantly noticed the sound difference when i started and lightly reved the z. i drove through campus slowely trying to warm up the car before i hit an open road. i wasn't expecting a whole lot but was very impressed. i felt power come on quiker from 4k-6500 and the sound was a lot meaner. i am definetly hooked now . overall great bang for buck mod as many of you already know.
soon to come:
jic y-pipe
test pipes
headers
plenium spacer
tein 1' drop

So you didn't notice any gains for your Apexi N1? Thats really cool you noticed a decent gain off the Popcharger, I have heard alot of positive feedback from it. I've read that it whistles somewhat like a turbo, is that true?
Post some pics soon if you have some, congrats on the setup

it does kind of sound like a turbo sometimes, with a light blow off effect , but primarily at full WOT it sound deep and aggressive. The N1 might have given me a little gain but i think most of the exhaust gains come from test pipes or y-pipes. all of them together supposedly work great and i can't wait to find out for myself this summer.

The cats are the most restrictive part of the full exhaust system. I've heard some people say the Y-pipe is next and some disagree. I was just going to replace just the y-pipe but have fell in love with the Amuse Ti exhaust. So I plan on running with my APS cat-delete a JIC y-pipe and Amuse Ti exhaust. Next to the PopCharger I would recommend the 5/16" Motordyne spacer with ISO gasket.

The new Iso Thermal system combines our aluminum plenum spacer, or the new M-REV, with thermal management components that substantially reduce upper and lower plenum temperatures. Cooler intake air temperatures increase air density, reduce the tendency for detonation (ping) and that increases engine power on and off the track.
The first component is an Aramid thermal isolating gasket that is installed between the lower plenum and intake manifold. By installing the Iso Thermal™ Aramid gasket between the intake manifold and lower plenum the heat transfer is significantly reduced and both the upper and lower plenum assembly run at much lower temperatures.

is the 5 16ths spacer really good for 11-13, i've heard alot and searched a bit, but personaly did you feel twice as much of an increase from the spacer vurses the popcharger (5-6whp)?

thanks, i understand that. unfortionetly i can only afford one mod at a time and am trying to pic wand choose which to get and which i'll enjoy the most. i'm still leaning towards finishing off the exhaust although the plenium spacer is looking very appealing
