Nismo V.S. Fujitsubo Titanium/SS...
Hi guys,
Wondering to know, are Fujitsubo titanium/SS muffler more restrictive than Nismo's muffler???
I know Nismo exhaust is made by Fujitsubo, and even the design of it looks exactly the same as Fujitsubo Ti and SS mufflers (besides those tips), but the Nismo exhaust is HEAPS louder than those branded as Fujitsubo..
Nismo one is just way too loud IMO compare to my friend's Fujitsubo Ti exhaust though.... and wondering to know, is Fujitsubo Ti more restrictive than the Nismo box and hence the noise??? or just the pure design differences in the box that makes that effect???
Thanks heaps!
cheers,
richie

Seriously that nismo has a smaller resonator than the fujitsubo? probably it might just be wise to swap out the nismo mid pipe to reduce the noise then?

plumpzz,
I cannot see anywhere that I can add a resonator though... let me put a few photos up for ya...
I seriously cannot see any room for another resonator though... or is there a smaller one that's available in the market? Please advise!!!

Hm I see what you mean. You can try to remove the current resonator and add a larger one. Nismo by design is loud w/ modifications. Fujitsubo Ti is quieter cuz it has a longer main resonator.
However, the mufflers on the market now will not max out before your exhaust cam will. Dont worry about benchflow. You can also use a dual exhaust w/ an X pipe. That will give you omre power, torque and it will be quieter. Magnaflow sells a 2.25 inch x pipe muffler. Use that w/ any exhaust cans of your type and a resonator, and you'll have a very quiet, efficient exhaust system.

thanks for the suggestions and inputs!
plumpzz,
it is weird that my exhaust gets slightly quieter now by itself and I didn't do anything to it... just out of the blue... I can feel the muffler is doing its job, but of course it is still at the loud side of the chart... if I cannot bare the noise any longer, I will give my friend's fujitsubo Ti a try... and go from there...
And when you said that Fujitsubo has a longer main resonator, do you refer to the one at the mid-pipe??!!

First of all I already listened to clips and can't really tell. I want to get the Nismo Catback but see here it is louser than stock. I would like to keep the same sound profile for my ZR. Don't mind if it is a little louder but with the car being a convertible don't want it to be overbearing. Will be getting a CAI or pop charger later if that is anything I need to consider.

Why is everyone so scared of how loud an exhaust will be? I know when I was first looking around I thought the same thing, but honestly you get so used to it you forget you even upgraded the exhaust. Besides I been in Z's with all kinds of exhaust and they all sound the same after awhile. The biggest difference is the HF cats or y-pipe (if the exhaust requires one) this will add volume. If your just putting the mid pipe back dont worry its not going to be loud.
