shiiiit, i have a nismo exhaust on my 07 w/ stock OEM cats and i have had to replace the cats twice now due to cracking at the welds.. dealer says I am the only one out there w/ this issue.. =/ interesting! HA!

all replaced under warranty, have never bottomed out my car. both have maybe gone.. id say.. 10k each before having to be replaced.

was starting to think replacing them with an aftermarket setup could possibly fix this issue... lol but I guess not! =P

Wow. First time I ever heard Nismo cracking stock cats..

It's hard to believe b/c when you look at OEM cats, they look INDESTRUCTIBLE..

if anything i would go with berk high flow cats, test pipes in my opinion are too raspy sounding and just don't keep the clean vq sound you get out of the nismo. . and berks have the new support brackets that are supposed to help with the cracking

wait im kinda confused so nismo exhaust with stock cats will cause it maybe to crack or is it if you get HFC?

has anyone experienced any problems with nismo catback and test pipes?

So how exactly do you know when you've cracked a cat? Sound and CEL? Just a bad sound? I hear a rattle occasionally on my car right before 3k RPMs and I have been told that my IMR y-pipe may have cracked my cats, since it's similar to the Nismo.

Nismo won't crack stock cats. They are virtually indestructible. I have never heard of anyone cracking their stock cats, except for the guy a few posts above..

Nismo with HFCs is a different story. Many people have reported cracking by pairing HFCs to Nismo exhaust. But my HFCs haven't cracked..so I guess it's either hit or miss by pairing HFCs to the Nismo exhaust.

Seems like you'd either hear them leaking or have a CEL, right?
