Default New HKS Exhaust unveiled?? (Not Hi Power)

In June 06 edition of Sport Compact Car, they mentioned that at the Tokyo Auto Salon, HKS unveiled an all new exhaust along with the new tt kit. Anyone have any info?? WillPWR? Here is the small pic that was in the mag.

It looks a lot like the discontinued one, except the tips look angled.

I thought it was the same old one (the second pic), but the part of being "unveiled" at the 06 Tokyo Auto Salon got me wondering.

Hmmm....

EDIT: Nevermind....I just looked at the price I was hoping it would be cheaper than the HKS Ti.

^ How much is it?

Looks like a sweet exhaust, probably with FI sized piping too!

Yeah, I just checked HKS Japan website, MSRP in US funds is like $3k+

And piping is only 60mm.

So what's the deal, I thought the High Power replaced this exhaust? Did HKS just decide to dust off the old exhaust and use it for the display for the new TT? That doesn't make much sense, or did they make improvements and reintroduce it as a "new" exhaust?

Hopefully WillPWR will chime in.

Its the same one as from before, no changes have been made to it. Basically, its still had limited availability in Japan and special order here, but the pricing is not that favorable. Both this and the hi-power use the same front sections, but the rear sections (obviously) are different. The Hi-Power offers more flow and a different exhaust note, due to the piping layout (its more straight back) and the resonance tubes.

FWIW, I had the option to get that one too, but I still ended up with the Hi-Power on my own car

Thanks man, doesn't surprise me that SCC was clueless.
