Default Make CAI louder

I absolutely love the noise that my CAI makes. I was wondering if there was a way to make it louder, via a bigger filter or somethin???

Make the tube longer and restrict it so that you can really hear the effect. I have personally run my tube back all the way to mid length on my Z and then brought it back to the front and not only does it sound loud, but I think I have already sucked two birds into it.

barthelb uses somehting similar but with TT it really sounds sick.

Is that how you're catching birds for your collection these days?

Default cheap alternative

I was in the same position when I bought my z 3 yrs ago. without causing harm to the MAF (mass airflow sensor) in the intake I decided to increase the sound by:

Buy a threaded nut about 4 inches long and 1 to 1.5 mm thinkness from home depot. ( mine was used for handing drywall pictures with a clip instead of a nut)

there is a gasket between the pipe that comes out of your catalitic converter to the muffler pipe.

slide the 1.5mm nut between both pipes and the your will easily appreciate the new non "fart can sound"

Beware you will get a lot of stares as the sound definitely attracts attention but does not sound rice at all.

Play around with the gap by shifting the nut to the right or left between both pipes to tune the sound you your liking.

Best 30 cent mod I ever did.

if your get any backfiring or a raspy sound, you have definitely opened up the gap too much....

enjoy
