Default Injen CAI owners

Thinking about getting the Injen CAI or AEM CAI noticed that the Injen CAI makes about 1hp and 1tq over AEM. For those of you who have installed a Injen CAI where in the RPM range do you feel a increase (over stock air box) and how much of an increase do you feel?

Default Injen

The Injen adds a nice touch for the price. It isnt ganna knock your boots off when u install it but u can feel alittle increase in power but the sound that everyone expects out of it isnt there it has a little whistle at high rpm and a little rev out of the motor gives it a nice sucking sound. But it is a good start if u want to start moding your Z up.

Thumbs up dyno run

I got 239 RWHP and 231 torque at 4300 feet elevation with the injen and the grounding kit. Really comes on hard at 4200 rpm.
With the Cobra I sold I picked up 40 HP with basic bolt on stuff, ie underdrive pullies, exhaust, x pipe, chip, airintake

Two things when installing the INJEN CAI that we found. ...........
1. resetting the ECU
2. making sure the MAF is clean.

I believe that # 2 is more true. The filter that comes in the kit is saturated with the filter oil. This oil when you run the car gets sucked back through the filter and covers the MAF. OUR MAF got covered and we used an electrical cleaning solvent.

You guys know that the stock intake is "cold air induction"? If you look at it there is a seal blocking the hot air from entering the intake. Kind of like ram air.So there is only a little hp increase with the CAI.

There where a couple of things one of our crew guys did.
There is a throttle closed learning. There is resetting the ecu and then there is an idle learning phase.
One of the them was turning the key to the on position for 3 seconds......then off for ten repeating like 5 times.......
I think the throtle closed was turning key to on then off for ten seonds and then start.........
The idle learning was getting the car is diagnostic mode......
pain in the *** and need to do it with a watch..........
turn key on then press full throttle and let all the way off 5 times within 5 seconds..............
then wait 7 seconds and go full throttle and hold until the MIL light flashes on the dash. this puts you in diagnsotic mode.
If you have and engine malfunction it will flash the light in a code.

if you let of the trhottle and then hold it back down(for 20 seconds) within ten seconds of the flashing then start the car its starts the idle learning. I might have some of this information slightly off...... it has all of this in the service manual.

When looking at the engine bay, the tube that the filter connects to bends down. We just rotoated it to the left and it tucked it up in the nose more.
