Default My expeirance with my exhaust

well i had my resonator removed because someone posted that it was a good mod, so i went and had it removed for $25 bucks, when the car is cold im sorry but it sounds like **** it rattles and sounds like a CRX with a loose exhuast if anyone knows why it makes this noise please post i believe its because the cats are not warmed up, when the cats are warmed up its sound decent its a little louder but IMO i think it sounds to cheap/rice for the 350z im just going to leave it without the resonator because i plan on getting the stillen exhuast i called today and it is $1,095. if anyone has this exhuast could they please post a sound clip i want to hear it to see if it is worth it, any info or opinions are appreciated thank you

the first production run from Stillen is supposed to sh!p this week. Unless the car it was prototyped on is around for pics/recordings, we probably won't see any new info.

I'll post pics when mine gets here.... hopefully soon.

Somebody on this forum posted a while back that he had talked to a muffler/exhaust-making-shop and the guy there said that the reason for the sound was the type of metal that the exhaust is made out of. He went on to say that if the exhaust were made out of stainless steel or titanium, the problem would no longer exist...but I'm not sure myself. I also agree that the exhaust sounds bad when it's not warmed up...kind of embarassing really.

I like the sound of the stock exhaust. Why do you people do this? Get a legitimate exhaust system.

Why do you people do this?
I can't speak for the other people, but I did this because I plan on upgrading the exhaust at the same time I do a FI upgrade with hopes of buying both exhaust and FI from the same company so that the turbo is tuned to the exhaust or exhaust to the turbo, it only cost $30, it only took 15 minutes of my time, I thought the stock exhaust was too quiet, some people have reported gains, not many reported losses, and I just enjoy modding my cars.

I just removed the resonator today. Do I have to wait a few days for the ECU to adjust?

Default you've all lost me!

What is all this cold start Crackling noise's??

I have know idea what ya'll are talkin about!!
I have no type of "Crackling"or "Jingling" noises @ all and mines been off for about 2 weeks now!Even on cold starts and its pretty damn cold here in Charlotte right now!

this is weird,..and as far as sound,.It sounds great!!
It is the tinyest bit louder then Stock---damn sure no where near Civic Apex'i sounding(for the layperson-High pitched & annoying)

but once again,..to each his own,...Mines Great!! All I've noticed when it is cold mine Jumps up RPM's when Cranked,.but goes right back down to Idle.
