Default Clicking noise from front of car, popcharger related or no??

Okay, so this started a few weeks ago. Also, a few weeks ago, I noticed my popcharger was colored grey instead of blue (I need to relube it.. I have no idea how to do this, if anyone wants to tell me, that would be nice too).

Anyway, this seems to be most obvious in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Probably because wind at speeds above 60ish, I can't hear it.
There is a reallllly annoying clicking/clanking sound, I don't know how to describe it. It happens when I am releasing the clutch, from what I can tell. I got my dad to sit in my car, and I popped the hood and listened, the sound seems to come from the actual engine (I'm not too car-intelligent, its the plenum area..). Its hard to say whether or not its directly from there or whether its from the black tube that comes out of it, which connects to the popcharger. However, it seems like it is not coming from the actual popcharger.

I need to figure out if I should bring this into the dealer, I am worried they might blame the popcharger for the problem. I hear there is a technical service bulletin out for this issue, but from what I remember, that was for a rear axel problem - this is coming from the engine area.

Help!!

Pop your hood and grab the stem of the filter. If you lightly tap or shake it and hear anything then something's loose. Otherwise, that's not it.

It should have nothing to do with your clutch. Unless higher RPMs make the sound louder/more frequent.

It doesn't happen when I have the clutch all the way in (disengaged).
