Default Test Pipe Options

I have Stillen Test Pipes, and the bracket weld keeps cracking. Instead of having them rewelded over and over I was considering buying Resonated Test Pipes. This will lower the rasp and give me a new set of TPs (which I will probably heat treat with Jet Hot coating). I was considering the following options:

UTR Test Pipes $279 Shipped
Labree TP $325
Kinetix TP $369

Are there any other resonated test pipes you guys would recommend? Also, who are the best vendors to buy these from?

I ordered the UTR resonated pipes from MRC. They are very high quality test pipes. You get what you pay for.

Megan resonated TP's sound pretty good on my buddies car. Around 6-7k with no problems and they were nice and polished.

Your going to want to get resonated for less raspiness. I've heard a few TP's but the megan's were the only ones that i heard that were resonated. So i could not tell you if they all sound the same.

The TPros are about the same sound as the Kinetix HF cats, and much quieter than non resonated.

I went through several HF Cats because of cracking and finally settled on UT-R resonated test pipes, The welds are a work of art, they sound awesome and the gains are noticeable even after having HFCs. The only thing is to make sure they cut off the hangers before install and dont crack the hanger weld when cutting them off. You might even ask UT-R to cut them off before shipping. If you connect the hanger on any HFC or Test pipe they will eventually crack so just remove them as you dont need them anyway.

BTW UT-R has excellent service. I was driving from SoCal to Mass on vacation and the hanger broke off one of them near Chicago, so I called UT-R and the next day I was in Queens getting my Pipe replaced for free. They cut off the hanger arm for the new pipe then installed. I asked them to cutoff the other but when they cut it while it was installed the weld cracked. So they cut one off a new pipe and then installed the new pipe and no problems since. Took them less than 20mins and I was out the door with 2 new pipes no charge no BS thats service. Great service great product I highly reccomend UT-R.
