Default Nismo Y pipe Leaking

I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem? My nismo Y pipe has a 2 1/2 inch leak in the right flex tube. I have to see what the cost will be to replace the flex joint. With the price of this exhaust you would think this would not happen.

I have the same exact problem but I tore up the braiding 8 months ago and it didnt start to leak until now. I know they wont warranty this because the braiding is torn but I thought it was odd that it would take 8 months to start leaking. I am replacing it with the JIC Y-Pipe, I understand that power is better and its a little cheaper so thats what I am doing. Good luck and post an update if you get it warrantied.

I had this same problem when purchasing a Nismo exhaust used from this forum. The right flex tube arrived all tore up and the box was partially opened. Seems like the shipper should have wrapped at least the flex tubing in bubble wrap or something. I was very disappointed. I am sourcing out Y pipes now...

I see a lot of this happening. More than likely it is because you are bottoming out or scraping the y pipe. The flex pipes are not going to get like that if it never makes contact to the ground. My flex pipes were definitely beat up as well but not nearly as bad as some of the ones I have seen.

The y-pipe has the flex joints covered by braiding. If the braiding gets damaged, it does not necessarily mean that the exhaust will leak right ?
The braiding only covers the flexible pipe and as long at that's not damaged also, no leak should occur. That's my though anyway...
