That may be where the 8hp claim came from (At the wheels). Then stillen turns around and give 13 crank hp.

Why do you think 13hp is impossible? I personally witnessed the MR2 Spyder Team Moon exhaust dyno 8 more hp to the wheels in back to back runs done about 30 minutes apart. This is on a 1.8 liter 138 hp car.

I am skeptical however, as i must note, it is indeed a coincidence, that the magic # is 13. This conveniently gives our 350zs' 300HP. A nice round number isnt it?

Default 8hp and 9lbs.ft. to the wheels

check out Track 350Z's thread, 'Stillen 350Z exhaust, 8hp & 9lbs.', on 1-17. I don't know where he got that, but, it says 'to the wheels'.

Thumbs up

Wait a second Stillenguy...how can the marketing coordinator not know the specs of his own product? Were you not fully briefed on the product if you are supposed to be marketing it? Also, if you talked to your friend in R&D, wouldn't "is that at the wheels?" be the first question you asked as soon as 13hp came out of his mouth? That's how just about any 'car guy' I know would respond. This just doesn't add up to me. I think you need to clear up with your management what you're allowed to say, and then just say it. I don't think you're helping your company's cause any by skirting and dancing around with half-answers.

I'm not trying to be a jerk...but there are a lot of people (myself included) who WILL buy this product if they can see some definitive proof that it works as claimed...(dyno charts of at least the average of 3 stock and 3 after the exhaust is on). A sound clip of revving, steady-state throttle, and preferably an on-the-road launch, etc. would also go a looooong way towards selling your product. I just don't understand why manufacturers continue to shoot themselves in the foot like this. The truth will come out quickly enough via the internet...people will soon post videos, sound clips, and dynos. If the product is good, why don't you beat them to it and prove it to us!

I don't see where there are any half-truths being posted by stillenguy. In fact, I see him being very direct unless he has posted on other threads and we are directing our energy here. Dynos and sound clips would be great, unfortunately, I have never seen Stillen release those and don't expect them to go out of there way for this forum.

Okay, maybe I was a bit harsh...maybe not half-truths, but we really aren't getting anything tangilbe from him. The whole 'not sure whether it's crank or wheel hp' thing is pretty ridiculous from someone inside the company, particularly a marketer...and particularly from someone who's buddies with an R&D person. It's pretty obvious that he's been told not to 'tell all' from management, so I can see the position he's in...I suppose he's doing his best, and any info is better than none. As I said though, we'll all know all about it soon enough, so not really a big deal.

As soon as I'm able to get my hands on one (hurry up Uncle Sam and send me back my $$$$$$ LOL) I will be able to post everything and anything about the system you guys want! Before and after, vids, sounds, revs, launching, etc. A friend of mine has a Mustang Dyno in a 4 car garage at his house!! I plan on doing those things with every mod to my Z

Don't forget to get the weight of both the stock and Stillen exhaust system. Aftermarket companies are known to exaggerate the weight of the stock system to make their's seem lighter. Thanks.

Does the Stillen exhaust cause any problems with any of the stock sensors? I recall some other exhaust didn't accomodate some vapor thingy (can't remember the details) which caused the an idiot light to go on. Does Stillen make provisions for all the stock bells and whistles?
Thanks,
Mika
