Default Thinking about HKS TD Ti, but is it worth it?

I recently graduated and have quite a bit of modding money. I was going to get the Borla TD, but considering the new money, I was going to go all out, and get the HKS TD Ti exhaust. Thing is, I was researching, and from what I've read, the high price of the HKS is due to the fact that its titanium. I was under the impression that the HKS was one of the best sounding exhausts, with no drone or rasp, good gains. Oh, and it has the blue tips. But one thing I don't care about at all is weight reduction - titanium isn't necessary. Considering I don't care about weight, should I look at a different exhaust?

Is $1050 shipped for a used one (5k miles) good? And does it drone at all? Or rasp?

+1000 if truly worth it. Its just that I dont care about weight-savings, and I know the HKS is expensive because its made of titanium (lightweight). I'd much rather spend 700-800 on a used ____ which has a great sound like the HKS but isn't titanium.

The HKS is stainless steel. Only the tips are titanium.

My friend has his HKS TD Ti exhaust for about a year. One day he heard some weird clicking noise. He jacked the car up and check the buttom of the car. Suprsingly it has a huge crack on the welding area where the metal hanger connect to the exhaust pipe. And it's very obviously the crack is from Thermal and vibration stress (we know for sure, cuz we are proffessional engineers, and we even show it to stress engineer that work with us, and he says the same also.) exhaust mod is suppose to be one of the most bullet proof mods on cars. Some exhaust even last longer than car itself.

I actually feel really bad for him, cuz I was the one that recommended him to buy this exhaust.

He brought it back to the shop he bought it from, but the shop wasn't very helpful or service freindly.

So now he is waiting for HKS's response, and looks like HKS is willing to help. However, the Z is his daily driving machine, so I do hope they act fast.

I dunno if this has happend to anyone that has HKS TD TI on the forum??? anyone???
