ichiba y pipe with stock exhaust
It's doubtful that the y pipe alone will make much difference. If you add HFC's and the y pipe you will get some additional sound level vs. stock.
I added Ult Racing HFC's to a stock exhaust and got a 2 db increase at idle and 8 db increase at 3,000 no load RPM's.
With all the talk about how loud or quiet systems are, it is meaningless without some sort of measurement.
Let us know what you think of the ichiba y pipe fit, finish and quality...price sure looks right. The Y is about as basic as you can get as far as components go. Sure the flex points are important and are likely to be the weak link as well if the quality is low.
Keep in mind the ID of the systems you will be buying to avoid any bottlenecks (going from 2 1/2" to 2" for example).
Good luck.
