Default HKs Dual hi power, wat are the canisters?

On the HKS dual hi power ti exhaust what are the canisters that sit ontop of the mufflers? I see that the exhaust pipe runs into them but there is no pipe that runs out, whats the purpose of them? Also would you say that the HKs is a good exhaust to get instead of the top speed pro 1?

HKS is the best exhaust out there especially with its reduced price. You can get a new one for $1200. You can get a used one for like $600(that's how much i got mine) I have it on mine and it's worth every penny.
I have no idea what those two canisters are for but they look good

I think they are sound resonators. They keep the sound down while not messing with the flow of the exhaust. That's why they are beside the mufflers. But, I could be wrong.

Well I would think, since HKS uses a 3" dia. bent pipeing on there system that the canister were placed there to create a back pressure so you do not loose all your torque with the bigger piping (expecially on a N/A setup)

Bubble quoted me for $1250 when i was shopping for the exhaust but I was lucky enough to get a really good used one for $600.
Check this site often, lots people sell the exhaust for good deal.

Bubble has the best price I have seen. I was going to get from him but was holding off due to some personal stuff that arose. Long story short, I was in a rush to replace because my stock Y pipe broke clean through and a buddy managed to hook me up 1350 installed out the door. They may be less expensive now but Bubble is the man to ask if you need the HKS. Oh yeah, I thought I those canisters were for the sneaky pete nitrous bottles. J/K
