Default TurboXS's single exhaust and test pipes review...

So I was the lucky recipient of TurboXS's new single exhaust system and test pipes. MRC Motorsports did the install and dyno (read more about it with these threads... https://my350z.com/forum/north-east/202016-looking-for-a-test-car-for-the-new-turbo-xs-exhaust.html https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=202129 )

I figured I'd give everyone my 2 cents on it. Take it for what you will.
Power...
As you can see from the dyno charts, the car gained power all throughout the powerband. You can definitely feel it. On the way home I put the car thru the gear and it hit 150mph significantly faster than it did stock. You could actually feel the power too. This isn't an exhaust that just gives you better sound, you can actually feel the gains easily on the "butt-dyno". The REAL dyno says it made 10whp with just the cat-back section and another 6whp with the test pipes installed. 16whp total!! Which is really nice! And like I said, the power is felt EVERYWHERE. TurboXS did thier homework on this exhaust.

Sound...
I didn't get to drive the car without the test pipes on it (i.e. with stock cats-and the cat back section ONLY installed). So the car does have a little rasp to it. Nothing excessive, but it's there. As far as overall volume, it's pretty loud. Louder than I prefer, and as a result I might go with a different exhaust. Simply because the police around here aren't tolerant of anything loud. However, I can only hope that whatever exhaust I find will not lose power on this thing.

Look
In the linked threads above there are pics of the exhaust, the exhaust that is in those pics is currently on my car. I saw the exhaust before it went on and I gotta say, the quality of work on it and the test pipes is pretty damn good. Better than a lot of stuff I've seen. The look on the car is good as well. Fitment is awesome, a few friends said it looked like it belonged there from the factory. The tips look good, but aren't obtrusive.

I am bound to get pulled over because the police in this area are especially unforgiving to modified cars. So I might not be able to keep this exhaust. We'll see. But, overall I like the exhaust, I'd recommend it to anyone who really wants to HEAR and FEEL the power, it's definitely worth the money in my opinion, and I wish the police weren't so **** around here.

Lastly... Thanks to MRC and to TurboXS. Both do good work

Do you have any sound clips? I'll gladly sell my Invidia TD for a 3" single like this.

No sound clips, however I have heard the Invidia in person. And it's a little louder, but less raspy.

I'll work on getting sound clips this week/weekend.

Looks like a nice exhaust. I like the use of the donut gasket flange (or whatever thats called) for the y-pipe to midpipe connection.

Any plans for a G35 Coupe application?

Nice numbers for just an exhaust. What dyno did you guys use, if its a dynojet, then Im thinking stock 03 Z would dyno 241-243 whp. Did this exhaust really gain 17-18 rwhp?

We used a dyno dynamics, and yes it gained what it gained. No smoke and mirrors here..Dyno before anfter each install, from dyno to lift to dyno...Very controlled conditions.

Are those numbers with the dynojet "correction" or is that pure dyno dynamics numbers?

IIRC, they were a dyno dynamics number. However, gaining 16whp on a dyno dynamics and gaining 16whp on a dyno jet is the same as long as the dyno was taken on the same one before and after.

In other words, if MRC would own a dyno jet and let's say my car made 235whp stock and then with the test-pipes/exhaust it'd make 251whp. The numbers aren't the same but the gains are.

Not sure of the exact diameter, but they are smaller in the very front, and then taper to the full size about 2-3 inches aft of it. This is to reduce some of the rasp, since the test pipes aren't resonated.
