Default Custom Apexi cold air intake in front of radiator VS. popcharger

Ok everyone I know this is a old question, but I need to ask it. I currently have a custom made apexi cold air intake that gained 5 hp and 7 lbs of torque on the dyno. I have since then highly modified my Z. From what I have been reading people have said that the crawford plenum and cold air intakes do not go well. I was wondering could I be losing power with my cai rather than having a popcharger? I would like to know this because im buying a Utec and having it installed and tuned next week. So I would like to know what would make the most power.

Sincerely Glen

Well in my opinion CAI intakes are great for NA but later on i found out that they don't do as well as the pop chargers with the upgraded plenums...another alternative is if you can convert your CAI into a short ram like you can with the injens.

Earlier this year I was at the drags and had a top speed around 101MPH w/ the Injen CAI. I was a little confused as to why my top speed was lower than I had expected. someone on the forum mentioned that it might be the CAI and my plenum spacer...the next week I went back with nthe Injen as a short ram (just like the popcharger) and ran a top speed of 103~104MPH. (Temp/humdiity/car was all the same from both days)

It seemed unlikley to me that it would make that big of a difference - but I've kept the Injen as a short ram.
