Question If You Have A Nismo Exhaust / Hi-Flow Cats Combo.....

I'm having a used Nismo exhaust installed in a couple weeks and wanted to get opinions on those of you who have BOTH the Nismo exhaust and high-flow cats combination.

1.) Which cats do you use?

2.) What are your other mods?

3.) How is the signature Z sound altered (even ruined?) with them on.....or is it just louder?

I'm really not concerned about gains, just the quality of the cats and the sound. A no rasp cat would be perfect.

Before I went TT, I had the Nismo and Crawfords cats and loved the sound. It was definitely louder and meaner sounding than with my TT, Nismo and pipes.

i am wondering the same thing. i have the nismo intake, headers and exhaust with AAM test pipes and it is a little too raspy for me. What cats would make the rasp go away?

If you don't want rasp stay away from RT Cats, they sounded like crap.

I'm also interested in what cats go well with the NISMO. I'm leaning towards the Crawfordz. Isn't the version 2 made for the extra stress that the NISMO puts on the cats?

i have the nismo exhaust with kinetix high flow cats. i love the way it sounds. i think it enhances the sound rather than ruining it.

The perfect setup is with Crawford cats the only down side is that the Crawford cats have a tendency of cracking with the NISMO y pipe. Doug@Crawford is working out something with the existing cats to reinforce the welds. I am running the prototypes right now and have had them on for about 2 months with no issues so far. Hopefully they will be ready for sale again soon.

1) Labree

2) DC Headers, JWT Pop Charger, Kinetix V+ plenum, UR Crank Pulley

3) Sounds awesome and exotic but it is loud. No rasp at all.
