Default Anyone polish their own OEM upper plenum?

I've got a spare upper plenum that I'm thinking about polishing. I know it's a huge task. Anyone that has done so, can you let me know what's involved and needed?

If it's too much work, I might end up powdercoating it.

I started trying to polish one and figured out it was a lot of work and would have had to buy a lot of tools and supplies to do it right. I wound up getting it done by Shaun @ www.slpolishing.com . Prices was very reasonable and turnaround was quick.

How much did that cost you with shipping there and back?

Also, are you still interested in those Hex Lugs?

Thanks,
Gary

It's a ton of work, i have done 6 or 7 of these plenums. I have all the polishing high dollar equip also. I cant imagine doing one w/ only hand tools and the plenum above looks good, I might be biased but i think i get a better shine out of them. And you forgot to mention how much of a pain in the *** it is.

It sure is a pain in the butt. Thanks for the compliment on ours, the final product is actually Jet-Hot Sterling 1300 coated. We polished it to the stage seen in the pictures where it's duller then send it to Jet-Hot.

Notice the amount of material we removed, from the numbers on the passenger side to the mounting points on top of the plenum which are not used unless you have a grounding kit. We tried to clean it up and smooth it out as much as possible which also took allot of work.

Thanks,
Gary

If you like the look of ours, we should have some more available in about 2 weeks we could sell you. We will be charging a core charge which would be refunded when we receive your stock plenum.

S&P charged me $165 plus return shipping ($15 maybe).

Yes, I'm still interested in the lug nuts but I have a few other projects working right now. I hadn't forgot about you.

I all my polishing work with a dremel and rotoray drill. Depends on how much time you're willing to put into this. If you only have a day to do this, take it to someone else.
