Default Borla exhaust installed

Well after 3 hours I finally got the Borla True Dual Exhaust system on my car. I'm disappointed in the loudness but I will be replacing the resonators with straight pipes tomorrow. It has a really good sounding idle and start but after 3000rpms the deep sound goes away and it sounds stock. I feel a little performance increase as well. Over all I'm still not sure yet if it was worth the money.

WOW, that sucks. I had my heart set on the Borla True Dual Exhaust because it had the best power gains and suppose to have a "V8 like" sound to it. Maybe I should just settle for the stock exhaust and beef the sound up with the popcharger and 5/16 plenum spacers. Keep me updated if the sound changes for the better

borla td does have a deeper tone then stock but for sound volume its not louder. the great thing is that if your planning on getting test pipes are hfc's you can do so without having to worry about you exhausts getting too loud. infact with hfc's mine are about as loud as i would want them.

I had it done yesterday. Sound is awesome, and it feels like I gained 15 more HP. I was going to have my muffler gave flange the res and pipe to interchange them whenever I wanted. Instead he made a direct fit on pipe just like borla. Just pull out the Res tubing, drop his pipes in and clamp up. I asked about selling them to people. I can get them to anyone for 115 shipped. This way when you sell the car you can sell the exhaust with no mods to it.

I'm still wary of the Borla TD because of all the pipes and clamps. Thoughts?

Also, anyone consider having the pipes welded after installed?

I'm now kinda considering the non-TD catback... but just not sure.

That's because you are not an enthusiast. You still want to hear the stupid stereo. BTW, are you going to the Z fest tomorrow? Cil and I will be there around 0850.

I still havn't heard an exhaust that sounds like a V8 other than the svrtech exhaust. Actually i lied, the stillen one w/ test pipes does too..but thast about it.\

Anyway, i have 2 complaints w/ the borla exhaust when i was shopping. The weird tips (not folded tips) and how quiet it was. Driving around town it sounded nice but after that it was very dull.
Good thing you figured out how to fix it.

You missed a great turnout. Although you did post up after the event was already over and we were about 20 minutes from the house. I even took home a trophy 3rd place in modified, one award for longest distance driven for the event, and took home almost all of the raffle. I have some money to spend at Jotech.
