Exhaust confusion
Hello everyone,
My sincere apologies, as I am sure that my question has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find a satisfactory answer using the search feature.
Basically, I am confused between the different types of exhaust for the 350z.
The exhaust pictured here has one single pipe going into a large backbox, while the other one has two pipes, also going into one backbox.

the single pipe back is probably more suited for NA. The true dual on the right with two pipes back is probably more suited for FI.
The one on the left most closely resembles stock and nismo.

I think he forgot to include the question, but here is the answer I will supply in hope that it answers the question that was omitted:
The one on the left is 'OEM' style (even though it is an aftermarket system), or the same arrangement that is supplied with the car from the Nissan factory. It has a Y-shaped pipe that brings the exhaust gasses from both headers down to one pipe. That single pipe then runs from the Y-pipe to the transverse-mount rear muffler, which then has two exit points out the rear.
The other system on the right is closer to a 'true-dual' exhaust design because instead of using a Y-pipe to take the gasses from the headers down to one pipe, the two sides stay separate until they meet up with the transverse-mount rear muffler, which then has two exit points out the rear. Other 'true dual' systems will have two separate longitudinal-mount rear mufflers instead of one transverse-mount muffler with dual outlets.
