Exclamation Injen CAI Install - manifold question

I am installing the injen CAI and I was wondering if I have to remove the factory heat shield or does the Injen heat shield fit on top of the factory heat shield? My car is in pieces now -- thanks in advance for your prompt replies!!!

Well, it appears that it fits over the factory shield. It's on and it's staying on

Default Video of Install

Ok, well I actually took a video with a little commentary. Sorry for the quality of the video. I took it with my digital camara and my garage isn't that well lit.

But anyways, the two key things that I thought I would point out is that the bumber cover had to come off, but not the actual bumber itself. I think Injen took a shot of the bumber assembly and put that in the instructions. I thought it was a little misleading because by just the looks of it, I thought that the bumber cover AND the bumber had to come off, but I did it with just removing the bumber. Another thing that I thought I would point out is that the heat shield goes on top of the factory, not in replacement. I was not sure of that during the intall.

Kind of funny -- you ask a question that can be subjective or opinionated and you get tons of replies, but when it comes down to the nuts and bolts (pun intended), no one stepped up! What's up with that? I was bragging to my friend that I thought I would get a lot of replies within minutes of posting my question. I am glad I didn't bet him any money on that!

Don't take me too seriously. I am just glad that I was able to do it and not have to pay a shop to do it.

I don't know -- it has been snowing every day since I installed it!!! I haven't had a chance to test it!

Do not remove the factory part. All you;re doing is remove 2 screws and put the ingen part on top, rescrew.. Pretty easy. I did the install yesterday, took 2 hours only without removing the bumper cover.

That is about how long it took me. Two hours and fifteen minutes for me removing the bumper cover, but not the bumper.
