Ok so it seems my first initial point was made VG blocks can be had for cheaper and are runing more reliably than a VQ. I would much rather have a bolton 500whp than a turbo kit on VQ..I cant imagine the swap being to crazy, or is it? I personally have no experience with that motor but its smaller for one thing and looks like it sits lower. Does it sound realistic to be able to swap VG and boltons for the same price as a turbo kit VQ with supporting mods?

I think the point people are trying to make in regards to a swap, is there is no such thing as a "bolton 500whp" engine swap. Everything is working against this idea. The VG block is heavier for starters. Two, a used one is still a used turbo motor. Would you really buy one and expect to make 500whp without replacing the pistons or honing the cylinders? Same with the clutch, and the timing belt. Then there's buying all the supporting mods to make that 500whp. The turbos and intercooler, the fuel, the injectors, etc.. all need to be upgraded, or would at least want to be upgraded for this project. And then you need custom mounts for the tranny and engine. The driveshaft might work, but who knows how long the Z32 tranny is, so you might budget for a custom length driveshaft. Then there's the ECU. If you want the stock gauges and VDC, etc to work, then you'll have to piggy back the ECU. The wiring and tuning of this, plus the custom components, plus the additional parts to make your hp goal, really might not be so easy or cheap compared to just working with what you already have in the engine bay.
Will
EDIT: spelling

Im really not doing this swap just sorta came into my head. Sorta like people opinions on swapping an H series into an eg/ek chassis. Its really not that hard once people had tried it and really doesnt weight much more. Just throwing ideas out there cause there are remanufactured short blocks that can be had for 1/2 the price of a turbo kit. I know drivetrain and such would be an issue but arent the stock Z components ie axels and diffs strong enough? It would be pretty cool to find out that the VG could bolt up to our 6speed leaving only wiring and boltons to be found. But I know its easier said than done.

With a 4.1+L VQ build there would be no reason to use the VG motor in a new Z

The VQ will be larger and make more power everywhere in the powerband

The VG is a great motor --- the VQ is pretty good too --- just needs a little love

that pretty funny guy, when the z32 motor makes 400 horse power with intake, exhaust and upgrade ecu ,just the 3 part there cost 1000.00
you can buy the complete swap for 1500.00 and install in the z33 for under 2500.00 and it still cheaper the than a turbokit or supercharger kit for the z33

i say to all you z people build what ever you want don't be a follower
