Default 2006 6mt - Nismo Exhaust

I got my nismo exhaust put in at the dealer today. It was $1293 total including labor. It sounds deeper, I could notice a difference from 2k-3.5k, haven't really gone that high in the rpms driving, maybe up to 4k rpms. I parked it in my driveway and did a quick rev up to around 6k, sounded pretty nice. I think if I got an intake, the sound would be complete and perfect for my style. I have to call the dealer and find out more about my extended warranty and how an r-tune product will affect it. I will try to get pictures and sound clips when I get back home, but it looks really nice. I paid a little more than I wanted to, I thought I would pay around $1100, but the price was more than what the dealer originally told me what it might be.

Why do people insist on doing things like this... Do you think this 21 year old kid who's paying his way through college wants to hear that he wasted that much money???
If you really want to help him out why not just give him 1/2 the difference of what money he lost. Keep in mind he did have the dealer install his exhaust too.... Which means he lost less than you may think...

(*don't be offended by the word kid*)

Maybe to try to get these "kids" to realize they need to be smart, shop around, do their research and not get ripped off in the future...

i saw the group buy, I saw it when it was on sale before for $899 also, I have an extended warranty, one where if anything fails, it will be replaced. I paid for the peace of mind that it was done properly and there would be no hassel in the future if something did happen. I would not want to have to deal with the dealership if there is something on there that they did not do. I know the law, they have to prove it, but I am sure if I take it to court, a judge would take the word of a nissan tech then a kid who says this is what he heard on a message board. I should be able to take pictures later on today and take a clip. Not offended at all or anything.

I paid $1300 installed for my NISMO exhaust.... I was one of the first to have the NISMO exhaust on my Z... I got it before I started working here from some other NISSAN dealer who never had to open their nismo catalog for the first time for me...

As long as he is happy... thats all that matters...

The exhaust sounds its best over 5000 RPM, thats where the Z really screams...

The exhaust is covered for 1year 12,000 miles no matter where you buy it (as long as it is a US NISSAN DEALER not a company that imports them from Japan on their own)...

R-Tune products are not covered under any warranty and sold as is... They do not how ever void the warranty on the car... they are just not covered...

So if I get a nismo CAI, and the engine fails, they can't blame it on the CAI?

I have 2 videos, I don't know where to host them or how, they are about 30mbs each. Here are some pictures of the exhaust.

The undercarrige is still so clean, lol.

I had mine put on by the dealership about a week ago and I love it. My next move is probably the CAI from Performance Nissan.

They can *try*, but they can only legally void engine warranty if they can PROVE the modification caused the problem. If you're worried, and your engine really DOES fail, just replace the CAI before you take it in.

P.S. Engine failures are very....VERY rare except for the occasional bad tune, or some of the turbo/supercharged guys. A CAI is just an air filter (what is there to be worried about??).

Before you buy a Nismo CAI I recommend you read the top 100 questions thread, please see the link in my sig.

Thanks Wired, I did read it when I first came on the boards. Some people on the board said that the CAI is better in motion and when it is on a dyno, it doesn't help, thats why it lost hp, is that true? I won't be getting anything else for awhile, school starts soon and I don't want to have my car down at all, lol.

Blue_Z, it made my drive back home even better, just hearing it, lol. Sound clips and videos don't really do it justice. I had to wait a month to get the exhaust from the dealer, they said it was backordered for awhile.

I really like the way the Nismo muffler tips angle upward. That's a pretty cool look and seems to flow better with the stock body lines than a straight out design.

Most dealers sell only at MSRP: $1100 + Tax

I had mine done at my nissan dealership, they charge an arm and a leg don't they, lol.

Alnfong, your car is hot, black is the best color, lol

stock exhaust

So what can i get for my stock one? its only got 2k miles on it.

Would resetting my ecu be good also, or would it not matter because it was not much of a difference? Thanks.

is it just me or does the nismo exhaust stick out too far compared to stock, maybe its the angle of the pic. is there any way i can have it further forward?

im looking into the nismo, ive had a local dealer make a deal with me for $900.

EDIT, i think its just the angle of the pic
