test pipe & emissions
People who commit a Felony [emission tampering or reporting fraud and conspiracy] for a few bucks and risk a $10,000 fine are hard to find.
Because when the car gets caught, the car owner whines and begs to turn state's evidence against the emission shop.

i guess i have to drive to the HOOD where the tech will take $100 to pass me. heck he dont even need me to pull into the station. just walk up with registration and he gives me my sticker. but i really dont like going down to that station because its in BAD part of town.. dont want to get hit with a stray bullet. this summer, the streets were hot.
how are yall with the TT & superchargers passing emissions? they dont care about the visual inspection, but the sniffer test.is what they cant turn a blind eye towards. inspection stations around here arent willing to lose there inspection lic. for $30. it pays the rent for the garage.

Due to electronic fuel injection, even without cats our cars run pretty clean. Especially at the low speeds where they usually test the car, it does not run very rich at all, thus, clean emissions.
Nevertheless, in cali there's no way I'd try test pipes, they'd probably catch it in an instant.

People aren't very well-informed on this topic...Here are the rules for Massachusetts:
http://www.vehicletest.state.ma.us/generalinfo.html
Summarizing:
Before 1983 -- No emissions required, pass safety inspection
1983 to 1995 -- Pass Dyno sniffer, pass safety inspection
1996 to present -- NO OBDII codes*, pass safety inspection
* - Exception: New vehicles are exempt for first two years from OBDII inspection, but still must pass safety inspection.
