Hey guys, new to this forum, nice to meet you all! Have an 06 stock BASE. Looking to get a JWT popcharger (if i can find one cheap enough) and supplement that with a plenum spacer. Not sure what to get, I found this one by AAM @ http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5..._Code=350Z_ENG
but some have said it's no good. They suggested Motordyne Spacers, 5/16" or 1/2". I've been told the half inch requires me to remove my factory strut bar and get another one, but that's a bit of money I'm not sure i wanna spend just yet (unless again...I find one for cheap). Therefore, i ask you guys if there's a NOTICEABLY huge difference b/w the 5/16" and the 1/2" ? thanks so much for helping! any general feedback on this would also rock!

welcome to the forum. you say you have a 2006 model and thus the rev up engine,(6MT) you will need the motordyne MREV since the rev up engines design negates the need for plenum spacers since it provides more air to the front two cylinders the very thing the plenum spacer does for the 03-05 model Z's.
do a search on here for MREV that is what you will need

mc350z, i'm sorry what do you mean that the 06 model doesn't need the spacer? is the design that different from the 03-05 where the spacer won't do much or anything at all? thanks

in a simplified answer yes. a MREV is basically a lower plenum off a 2003-05(non track or 35th) used in conjunction with a spacer. you can even get it ported out for more air flow.
and to answer your question about 5/16 v 1/2 you can still use the strut bar with 5/16 not 1/2 if i remember correctly the hp difference is only like 2-3 so imo the 5/16 is a wiser option

If you have a 06 stick, you have the revup motor with the short runners on the lower plenum. If this is the case, your best bet is the mrev2.
If you have an 06 auto, you have the same motor as the 03-05 have with the longer plenum runners. If this is the case, your best bet is 5/16 spacer.
