Default Exhaust Leaks Water...?

Just wanted to know if this is normal. If water drips at the midpipe and exhaust on startup. But, goes away when the car is warmed up.

Basically an exhaust leak. It's just the condesation coming through. Have it all tightened down.

I got some in mine from a lot of rain. Just the angle of the Nismo tips I guess. It'll eventually vaporize if that's all it is. Just go for a nice long ride, that's all I needed.

That's not what it is...

Every exhaust produces water as the car warms up...it's science. If you see it coming from a clamp or a weld - that seal is not good. Chances are you will see the drip from the tailpipe or it will evaporate before it gets there.

hydrocarbons + air = CO2 + water (plus byproducts i.e. NOx, CO, carbon nanoparticles, etc)

We had a big storm pass through and that's the only time I've had the issue. Since then no water dripping.

on the same subject, I'm getting an exhaust leak at the mid-pipe y-pipe joint with water dripping. I've tried tightening everything down but it just won't work. I am thinking of just using a liquid sealant thingy? or should I take it to a shop. Thanks

Do nothing. Unless it is a major leak that you can feel and hear, leave it alone, especially if you've already torqued it down. Any muffler shop will tell you that. The corrosion products in the water will eventually seal it up. My JIC Y-pipe to Amuse midpipe connection dripped water for about 2k miles. It is now sealed.

Other than ignoring it, you can always have those connections converted to flanges. It's not that expensive and much easier to take the system apart for servicing reasons.

Just make sure the flanges welded from the inside and spot welded on the outside for added strength.
