Default Any Cure for Raspy Exhaust?

I got the Invidia g200. Just put on some Labree resonated test pipes. It's raspy as expected around 3K rpm. After that, i think it's just loud enough to not hear the rasp. Any cure for this? I was thinking about getting an extra resonator welded onto each pipe to muffler the sound and reduce or eliminate the rasp. I did this on my old accord with the Greddy Evo, I had bought used from a wreck. When I got a custom straight mid-pipe on it, it was raspy but once I threw a resonator in the middle, it was perfect. Any comment on this? I doubt the resonator would impeed too much flow but it's a concern. I'd like to hear some feedback since I'm sure many have TP's on this board.

BTW- I posted this on drivers already just wanted to see if any Z folks have any recomendation.

I assume the Invidia is a dual exhaust?

If it is, try this link. I had the same problem until i had this done. All rasp is gone, and i love the sound.

Awesome reply, i knew i couldn't be the only person that's annoy with the rasp, i like the TP's a lot but just hated sounding like a fartcan civic. My Invidia already has an x-pipe on it, but non resonated. I will see if the exhaust shop has somethign familar, if not, I might just throw on a 16" resonator on each pipe. I think they'll do the job in eliminating or reducing the rasp w/o really impeding the exhaust flow. Thanks Aceman

I agree, only after a day or 2 and I have notice it less and less. But it's the unfriendly reminder i get once in a while that ruins the day for me. I just have having a good aftermarket exhaust, only to sound like a $50 ebay muffler. Unless I was going for the full race look, I personnally want my car to sound "tuned" and tame.

Just got back from exhaust shop, there's no room to fit the 15" resonator..haha. I might have to look into the magnaflow resonated x-pipe to replace my current one or locate smaller resonators.

I for one HATE rasp. But to each their own.

I know right now that i have NO rasp what so ever. And, the car sounds the best it ever has.

Its a cheap mod, that does not hender performance and gives your car a stronger deeper tone. I LOVE IT

Thanks Aceman for bringing up the old thread about the Magnaflow x-muffler. I just ordered one from Performance Peddler for $67 shipped, can't beat that. I did a rough measure and i think there's plenty of clearance. I also looked at picture of the Fast Intention exhaust since they too use a magna x-pipe. Looks like there's plenty of space and should line up with my Invidia. The magna look like it will do the job considering my Invidia doesn't have resonator, so i'm not replacing them like you did. So the addition of the muffler should help out if the install goes well. Again, thanks

Update, I got the Magnaflow x-muffler installed to replace my x-pipe. This muffler quiet everything down, almost too quiet . But no more rasp and drone. So hopefully the muffler will break in and will get a lil louder after some uses, as most exhaust does. This is probably a better set-up for the Injen or HKS where the exhaust noise can use a tone down. Right now, it's pretty quiet, in cabin noise is softer than stock due to the placement of the x-muffler right underneath the seat to soften the noise you would normally hear. I really hope the muffler will break in and reduce the resonance some, then it'll be perfect. I do miss the roar on the highway though . But it's not a bad trade-off considering i hated the ricey rasp.

Well im glad the Rasp is gone, sorry it took away from the Exhaust note. I know with the Injen it made it sound deeper.

You have any Pics? I will try to get some pics of mine up.
