Default SVRT Dump pipes testimonial

This morning I finished installing the svrt dump pipes and all I can say is DAMN!!!

I was expecting a change in exhaust note but this will really throw you back. It goes from a quiet humm to a WHAAAAAAA. Well I guess I need to post up a sound clip so you guys can get the idea because this just doesn't cut it.

Intallation was tedious but mostly because of the wastegate removal from the greddy manifold and downpipe. All else is pretty standard.

A++++ with this mod. I only wish it came with a complete set of downpipes to remove the greddy one.

Soundclip coming soon

When the car is parked and idling, or even cruising on the highway, can you hear any sound comming out of the dump pipes?

No, you wouldn't even think they're there when the car is idling. YOu only really hear it when you step on it and begin to boost harder and harder. Oh yeah and it only sounds when the car is under load and if you rev it at a light you won't really hear anything different.

Well it would have definitely helped out if it came with some instructions or the two relocating pipes were marked left and right. It took me a while to figure out which way they were gonna work. And all the screws were too small so it took me a short drive to the hardware store ( no big deal).

Yeah you only hear the dump tubes once the wastegates open....therefore revving the engine doesn't produce enough boost to open them.....hence no sound.

Tecni what are you doing inside? You should be out there getting sound clips

Nice!

You have to hear WG dumps in real life. Videos do not justify or make them sound anything like they do up close.

The problem was I installed and reinstalled mine every way possile because there were no instructions or markings. God Jeremy and I were soooo pissed. Also I have a 5AT which we later found out the kit doesn't fit just right.

Yeah, I knew that. I was wondering how much audible leakage there is through a closed gate leading to dump pipes.

OK people, I kinda rushed the video clip and was trying to hold the camera while I drove so I couldn't shift. Here's a pull on second gear. Keep in mind that only the driver side window was down.

This is 389whp with built motor, greddy TT kit, Evo tt exhaust, about 8.5 psi, stock greddy fuel map, 8.5:1 comp ratio.

I'm gonna see if I can get one of my boys to film it tomorrow while I drive.

I have them too. You have to get used to them. Everytime I hit full boost women and children run for cover. They are loud and you need to hear them in person. When I had mine installed I raced my girlfriend and when full boost hit she ran off the road.

when i pack the stuff myself it all gets marked. i have told the guys to do it but...........
greddy came out with 2 different styles of downpipes. i ran into the second style today installing one of the dump kits on a customers car. yes, the bolts are just a hair too short on the cast style, but work fine on the welded tube style, which the kit was originally set up on. we will be switching to longer bolts now to solve the prob.
